THE

A mutual aid fund for non-surgical affirming care for transgender and gender-diverse people.

At The Lounge Aesthetics + Wellness, we believe everyone deserves access to care that helps them feel at home in their body. That’s why we created the True You Program — a community-powered program that provides free and reduced-cost access to our treatments, including scar management treatments, affirming dermal filler and laser hair removal for transgender and gender-diverse people in need.

Every treatment is focused on helping the recipient feel more aligned, inside and out.

How It Works:

  • The fund operates in quarterly cycles (every 3 months) In sync with our fundraising cycles

  • Fundraising Cycles

    Q1: Jan–Mar
    Q2: Apr–Jun
    Q3: Jul–Sep
    Q4: Oct–Dec

    1. All donations and funds raised are pooled and announced publicly at the close of the cycle.

    2. Awards will be made at the close of each fundraising cycle as a treatment scholarship.

    3. Treatment scholarships cover a complete or partial package of care (such as a series of scar treatments, a laser hair removal package, or dermal filler for facial/body contouring) based on available funds.

      Money is raised through:

  • Community donations

  • Online + in-person purchases from our True You Bodega

  • Sales of skincare in person + over-the-counter skincare we recommend via our online shop

How to Apply:

Step 1

The first step is simply filling out the form below. Please tell us about what treatment area and service you are in need of. Please be aware that treatment scholarships are reserved for individuals with low income or those cannot otherwise afford services. Currently, our salary threshold for eligibility is $65k and under. You will be asked to provide income verification.

Step 2

Available funds are divided into treatment scholarships (for example, a full package such as 6 sessions of laser hair removal, scar care, or dermal filler treatments). Recipients are chosen through a lottery system, with priority given to those on the waitlist from previous award periods.

Step 3

Each applicant will be notified of their award status. If you aren’t selected this quarter, your application automatically rolls into the next cycle — so you stay in the running without having to reapply (unless you’d prefer to opt out).

 FAQs

  • While each individual has differing hair density, tone and texture, in general you can expect to need 10-12 sessions for a full face and neck.

  • We understand that life happens. We do have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, our booking system automatically charges you a $50 late cancellation fee. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, this will count as a no show and you will be charged $50. If you forget entirely and don’t show to your appointment, this too is considered a no show and you will be charged $50.

    Two no shows will disqualify you from participating in the True You Program.

  • Our True You Program covers 10 free facial laser hair removal treatments.

  • We ask that you shave within 12 hours of your laser hair removal treatment. We need your hair as short as possible for the laser to reach the hair follicle.

    If you forget to shave prior to your appointment, you will be rescheduled and charged a $50 late cancellation fee.

  • This program is available to treat the areas of your face and body that you wish to address. Each treatment is customized to meet your individual needs.
